I had a delightful guided tour through the Hockenheim Ring. Frau Stäcker had made it possible for me to drive into the area. We could not actually enter the circuit as a motorcycle practice was going on but this provided for the appropriate background with the noise and the race atmosphere. We drove in front of the Mercedes stand and we entered the drivers's paddock and we walked to the pit lane as closely as ever safely possible. It was thrilling. Some of the motor bikers showed interest in my Porsche and it almost felt as if I belonged. Looking down from the VIP lounge onto the circuit brought back memories when I was at the F1 race in 2003 together with my son. Driving into the paddock and to the stands raised my heartbeat and even my Porsche mobilised a few more horsepowers.
Ich genoss eine wunderbare Führung durch den Hockenheim Ring. Frau Stäcker hatte es mir emöglicht, ins Fahrerlager und in die Nähe der Rennstrecke zu fahren. Wir konnten nicht die eigentliche Rennstrecke befahren, da eine Motorrad Rennpraxis stattfand. Aber dies gab den nötigen Hintergrund mit dem Lärm und der Rennatmosphäre. Wir fuhren vor die Mercedes Tribüne und wir gingen hart an die Grenze der Pit Lane. Es war ein Nervenkitzel. Einige der Motorradfahrer zeigten Interesse an meinem Porsche und es kam ein Gefühl auf, als ob ich dazugehörte. Als ich von der VIP Lounge auf die Rennstrecke hinunterblickte, kamen Erinnerungen zurück, als ich 2003 mit meinem Sohn ein Formel 1 Rennen dort beobachtete. Als wir in das Fahrerlager fuhren schlug mein Herz schneller und sogar mein Porsche legte noch ein paar PS mehr zu.
